Our take off has been slow. But I fully intend to change that I am going to put the word out there as many ways as I possibly can about our store. Currently our store is solely in etsy.com/shop/fabuleuxfashions. This is our spring board to make our fashion shop flourish. We currently have promotions with coupons and a free giveaway underway.
Our next steps include integrating some new fashions, one is a Frenchies twist on a current design that was created by creatingbycami the title of her blog is tidbits. I loved her dress business in the front party in the back, so I have created my own twist on the dress and have my little neice who will be our lovely model for that dress it is sure to be a hit. We are also going to make a version of this dress as a shirt for older girls with a more mature look to the back think flowing waves instead of a bustle. If we have call for it we might make this for our younger girls as well.
We have a few other projects on our list that we hope to have up and on our site within the month. We have a pleated dress we are making for the smaller girls with a butterfly sleeve I think we will call it butterfly couture ( of course we will not have rhinestones and beading all over it but that name sounds nice and classy for such a cute dress). We will also have a bubble type dress with some different twists. Also we plan on a fully lined version of the butterfly dress with the lining bringing a bit of pop to the dress.
Now Colors and patterns this has been a big debate amongst those involved in our little shop. So I pose to the readers what colors do you want to see in clothes, some nice modern fall colors nothing dark I am not a dark artist, or is neon where its at. Of note is I just can't see myself doing all neon but if that is what people like I will do it we want to make our people happy! Ok now patterns how do you like them? I see alot of clothing with a mish mash(I love looking at the fashions that have this just wondering what the demand for this style is, according to the childrens fashion week for winter of this year has some pattern with texture) of patterns all with a similar color scheme. I tend to be sparing with my prints and match them with an interesting textured material. So again I ask is the mish mash popular or is it more popular to have a print paired with a texture or a solid? I will probably do both b/c I like it both ways but I am curious what if your thoughts on this, remember we are dressing kiddos here.
Finally, I like to put out a reminder that our store will create fashions that are specialized to a specific person. So if you have a child who has troubles moving we can adapt clothing to be more easy to put on. We also have ideas for a weighted jacket because what child wants to have a weighted vest on that really isn't fashionable and do we really want to make our children feel as if they are different. We have also created a design for a weighted blanket. We have some options available for a blanket and will have a couple models posted to our site but they will need to be on a special order basis. It is important that the blanket be correctly weighted for your child we do not want to cause harm.
Its probably important that you know I am a Doctor of Occupational Therapy. So by training I am an occupational therapist but in my core I am a designer and an artist. An injury has given me the opportunity to live in both worlds. I can no longer d the physical work an occupational therapist must do in clinic but I can create, and that is where my shop idea came from. I started organically knowing I wanted to offer adapted clothing, and I soon realized that I also loved playing with any type of clothing and exploring new ways to design and new ways to twist and manipulate what already exists. So I have put my Occupational therapy skills to work on my designs for adapted clothing and clothing for sensory integration, at the same time I have fead my creative needs with fashioning, designing and creating all kinds of clothing.
Stay tuned for clips of our current work! Also look for out up and coming fashions!
